Faculty of Aquaculture and Fisheries Academic Units
    Founded in 1993 and received its first students in 2004, the Faculty of Aquaculture and Fisheries aims to provide both theoretical and practical education in a wide range of subjects related to fisheries and the production of aquatic animals and plants. Conducting research in order to contribute to the development of the discipline within the region, which has a significant potential for aquaculture, and around the country is also an important objective of the faculty. The faculty members conduct research on fundamentals of aquaculture and fisheries biology, harvesting and processing techniques in aquaculture and fisheries, diseases in aquaculture and fisheries, and production in aquaculture and fisheries. The Faculty currently offers one degree programme to educate qualified Aquaculture and Fisheries Engineers who can work in aqua cultural sector.
Aquaculture and Fisheries Engineering
The department aims to provide education on fundamental concepts of Aquaculture and Fisheries Engineering. Students are offered a curriculum which covers both essential subjects for engineers and courses on such subjects specific to their profession as aquaculture engineering, aquatic plants and animals, fish biology, fish anatomy, marine biology, genetics, production and harvesting technologies, fish nutrition, fish diseases, fishing techniques, water pollution, and navigation. Graduates are awarded the title 'aquaculture engineer'.
