Muğla University offers students a variety of lunching and dining facilities conveniently located throughout the campus. Food services are organized by the Administarative Office of Health, Sports and Cultural Activities. Built on a 8,000 square meters area "Sıtkı Kocman Student Palace Catering Hall" is the main catering facility in the campus and with its architectural design, location, service style, wide variety of quality food, table d'hôte and à la carte lunch salons and lobbies it has a distinguished place among its peers in other universities. Students are offered healthy, tasty and inexpensive food with different serving styles in this catering hall with 1200 seating capacity. Food, which is stored in suitable environments, is cooked in the kitchen located on the basement. The kitchen is equipped with ultimately modern devices and utensils and has the food preparing capacity of 10,000 people. Students studying at the Schools located in the boroughs are provided catering by private firms agreed through adjucations put by the Administarative Office of Health, Sports and Cultural Activities. Canteen and Cafeteria Services There are canteens and cafeterias in all faculties and schools run by either the University or private firms. They all cater for the basic daily needs (sandwiches, beverages, market products etc.) of the students and staff. The quality and the prices of the products offered by the canteens are particularly supervised. The canteens and cafeterias are also equipped with TV, music box, tennis tables, chess tables, and pool tables which serve students conveninently in their free time. The "Blue Roof "Central Cafeteria Blue Roof Student Cafeteria, opened in 1996 and run by the University, serves for the students and staff between 07:30 and 22:00 on weekdays. Blue Roof Cafeteria is the most preffered place by the students thanks to such facilities as fast food unit serving hot/cold food and beverages of many kinds (cold sandwiches, doner kebab, meatballs, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, tea, fruit tea, coffe, yoghurt drink, lemonade, coke, fizzy drinks, fruit juice etc.), shop, TV room, game rooms (pool, chess, pinball, computer games etc.), music box and copy room. The Cafeteria is also used for hosting tea parties, freshmen meetings, music and entertaintment nights and concerts etc. organized by the students or the University. Internet Café Internet Café was opened in 2001 in order to offer students facilities of electronic communication and Internet as well as CD copying, print outs and scanning with very reasonable prices. There are over 30 computers in the Internet Café. Turkish House Student Cafeteria Turkish House, which was built in 2002 with a construction technique to reflect the local architecture of Mugla and to present a home-like environment, serves mostly the dishes of traditional Turkish cuisine. |
