Exchange Students

European students can apply to Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University as an exchange student within the framework of the Erasmus programme, provided that their home institution has a bilateral agreement with Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University applicable for the department or programme in which they are registered. Similarly, registered students of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University can benefit from Erasmus student exchange provided that their department or programme has a valid bilateral agreement with a European higher education institute. Exchange periods can be between three to twelve months.

When applying to study at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University, exchange students must first contact their own institution’s international relations office, international coordinator, or ECTS coordinator. The applicant must fill the student application, learning agreement, and transcript of record forms. The language of instruction is Turkish, but degree programmes actively involved in student exchange can offer courses or course packages, tailor-made studies, and supporting materials and exams in English for the incoming exchange students. Learning agreements are made before the exchange periods but may be changed after arrival. Incoming Erasmus students do not pay any education fee for studying at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University. In coordination with the International Relations Office, the departmental ECTS coordinators accept the incoming exchange students after consulting with the department. The International Relations Office and the departmental ECTS coordinators also make sure the incoming exchange students fill all the necessary forms and help them with the registration.

Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University students, when applying as an exchange student to study at a European higher education institution, must follow the Erasmus exchange selection and application procedures coordinated by the International Relations Office. Announcements and selections for Erasmus exchange are made two times a year (April and October) and rules regarding eligibility, selection, and grant payment criteria are set by the handbook published yearly by the Turkish National Agency. Outgoing exchange students should follow the application dates and procedures of the European institution to which they will apply.
