On World Bee Day, "Bee" from Ancient Period to the Present Has Been Spoken

Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (MSKU) Bee and Beekeeping Society organized Panel and Exhibition activities on the occasion of May 20th World Bee Day.

In the panel held at MSKU Atatürk Cultural Center, MSKU faculty members, who had important researches on bees and beekeeping in ancient period, presented their studies to the participants.
 
Prof. Dr. Adnan Diler, Prof. Dr. Muammer Tuna, Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Gündoğan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rahşan İvgin and Lecturer Asst. Prof. Dr. Taylan Doğaroğlu took part as a speaker.
 
Following the panel on beekeeping, bees and society, what we can learn from bees in the ancient period, and the effects of climate change on beekeeping, an exhibition was opened for the sculptures made by bees at the Museum of Replica Sculpture Works in the MSKU Rectorate building.
 
The replica sculptures created by Beyza Durhan, inspired by the sculptures made in the Neolithic Period and re-created with cloth, flour and metal materials, were placed in beehives and then bees were allowed to process these sculptures, attracted great attention from those who visited the exhibition.
