A team from Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University earned third place at the AI for Smart City Solutions Hackathon, showcasing innovative applications of artificial intelligence for urban development.
A team of Information Systems Engineering students from the Faculty of Technology at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (MSKU) secured third place at the AI for Smart City Solutions Hackathon, organized by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Smart City Directorate and Tech Istanbul.
The competition challenged participants to develop AI-powered solutions addressing real-world urban issues in areas such as smart mobility, energy, environmental sustainability, public services, and digital innovation.
Representing MSKU as the Bros Team, Nazmi Girgin, Baran Kaya, and Mert Ali Karacaoğlu presented their project during the final round at Tech Istanbul Başakşehir. Their solution impressed the jury, earning the team third place among the competing finalists.
The achievement highlights the students' expertise in artificial intelligence, smart city technologies, and collaborative problem-solving, while reflecting the practice-oriented education provided by MSKU's Information Systems Engineering program.
