Established through the collaboration of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (MSKU) and industry partners, Muğla Technopark continues to expand its innovation ecosystem, attracting technology companies and supporting high-value research.
The Board of Directors of Muğla Technopark, chaired by Rector of MSKU, Prof. Dr. Turhan Kaçar, convened to review the technopark's ongoing projects, evaluate its recent performance, and discuss future investment opportunities.
Since opening in 2020, Muğla Technopark has developed into one of the region's leading centers for research, development, and innovation. Supported by a range of government incentives, including tax exemptions and social security benefits, the technopark reached full occupancy with 45 resident companies by the end of 2025, while attracting 46 new applicants seeking to join its innovation ecosystem.
The technopark hosts high-technology activities across 17 sectors, including software, defense, aviation, electronics, energy, agriculture, healthcare, and chemistry. By the end of 2025, 76 R&D projects were underway, including 16 carried out in direct collaboration with MSKU and nine involving international partners.
The innovation ecosystem has also recorded strong economic growth. Export volume increased sixfold between 2023 and 2025, followed by a further fourfold increase during the first half of 2026, while total sales reached TRY 288 million by the end of 2025.
In addition to supporting research and commercialization, Muğla Technopark employed 239 highly qualified professionals by the end of 2025 and continued to invest in entrepreneurship through incubation programs, startup training, and dedicated funding for student teams participating in TEKNOFEST.
Prof. Kaçar reaffirmed the technopark’s commitment to fostering university–industry collaboration, supporting technology-driven entrepreneurship, and strengthening Muğla's position as a center for innovation and high-value production.
