Rector of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (MSKU), Prof. Dr. Turhan Kaçar, welcomed Faculty of Sport Sciences student and national archer Hazal Burun following her outstanding performances at major international competitions.
 
Hazal Burun, a student at the Faculty of Sport Sciences of MSKU and a member of Türkiye’s National Archery Team, continues to bring distinction to both the country and her university through a series of international successes in 2026.
This season, Burun claimed an individual silver medal, a mixed team gold medal, and a team gold medal at the European Grand Prix Stage 1. She also won team gold and mixed team silver at Stage 2 of the Hyundai Archery World Cup in Shanghai.
She later secured the individual title at the European Archery Championships in Antalya before adding another major achievement with team gold at Stage 3 of the Hyundai Archery World Cup, also held in Antalya.
Joined by Prof. Dr. Özcan Saygın, Dean of the Faculty of Sport Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Hakan Ünal, Head of the Department of Sports Management, Burun met with Rector of MSKU, Prof. Dr. Turhan Kaçar, and said she was proud to represent both the university and Türkiye on the international stage.
Congratulating the national athlete on her achievements, Kaçar said her success had brought pride to both the university and the country. He also expressed confidence that her accomplishments would continue to grow and noted that they serve as an inspiration for young athletes.
