The "Interdisciplinary Research and Development Awareness Meeting-I" which was organized by the Technology Transfer Office Coordinatorship’s Project Support Unit was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Çiçek, Rector of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University.
The Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Çiçek stated at the opening speech that in a short time like 4-5 years, through the research and development activities carried out at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University, the goal of being an R&D University will be achieved. However, Rector Çiçek also emphasized that in parallel with the requirements of the age, the importance of interdisciplinary studies is gradually increasing, adding that new products and perspectives can be put forward by the collaboration of different fields.
Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Çiçek further stated that through the Muğla Technopark, Inova Muğla Technology Transfer Office (TTO), Research Laboratories Center and Thematic Areas Laboratories a wide variety of opportunities are offered to researchers who want to work interdisciplinarily. Moreover, the Rector added that at the same time, it is ensured that all kinds of materials are provided to the researchers with the "Inventory System". He also conveyed his request to researchers that these opportunities be crowned with interdisciplinary collaborations.
It was also stated at the meeting that a new event related to interdisciplinary studies carried out in other fields will be held after the Eid al-Adha.
